Parks and Facilities Planning Committee (PFPC)

The Parks and Facilities Planning Committee works closely with the Board of Directors to recommend improvements, create planning documents, coordinate volunteer days that help maintain the parks, and prepare asset replacement recommendations for HSCA’s three parks and its Community Center. The committee meets once a month on the second Monday of the month at 6 PM at the Community Center.

The committee uses HSCA’s Asset Replacement Plan to determine which park or facility component requires replacement as a part of the budget process. The committee is also currently developing master plans for the Community Center, Honu Park, Maikoiko Park, and Papio Park. The draft plan drawings were shared with members at the April 15, 2023, Annual Members Meeting, and the committee is reviewing member comments and incorporating this information within the draft drawings. The committee hopes to complete the master plans this summer. The current draft plan drawings are shown below.

The current committee members are Steven Bailey, Chairperson, Eileen O’Hara, Kathy Morgan, Jeff Sargent, Sean Alexander, Tom Cumming, and Lori Tetrault. The committee encourages members to attend their meetings.
