KNW was formed in November 2021 to help improve the safety of our community. It is not an HSCA committee as it represents the entire community of Hawaiian Beaches/Shores and is under the Hawaii Police Department (HPD). Working with our Community Policing Officer (CPO) who if currently Officer Terence Scanlan, the KNW holds monthly Zoom meeting on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6 pm. Suzanne Frey is the KNW coordinator aided by Laurie Moore and Eileen O’Hara. Suzanne attends the monthly meeting of all the Puna NW groups of which there are now around 22 active groups. To report abandoned vehicles, please call the non-emergency number 808 935-3311. This is the same number to call to report suspicious behavior. Please contact our HPD if you see something occurring that is illegal or disturbing the peace of the community. They need us to work with them to combat crime!!
