A message from our Board President: Eileen O’Hara.

Aloha! This is the official website for our nonprofit 501c(4) organization, a homeowners association representing all properties in the Hawaiian Shores Recreational Estates subdivision.

Our subdivision is accessed from Highway 130 via Kahakai Boulevard in the lower Puna District. Created in 1979, HSCA assumed all common property in our subdivision. With slightly less than 1,300 separate residential parcels, common areas include the roads, three parks, and a well that provides potable water to our homes. We commonly own an area of nearly 12 acres that formerly operated as horse stables under a County Special Permit. We share common public resources and infrastructure with the three other subdivisions located along Kahakai Boulevard which are Hawaiian Beaches, Hawaiian Parks, and Hawaiian Shores.

Keonepoko Elementary School is located adjacent to our subdivision as is the “Da Store” convenience store.  Approximately 3 miles away you’ll find various shopping options in Pahoa town including grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, restaurants, banks, and more.

Please browse our site for information on meetings, events, and association governing documents. Contact information is provided and we would love to hear from you. The HSCA office is staffed every weekday during normal working hours, except we’re closed Mondays.

A volunteer Board of Directors manages the association, and staff members take care of day-to-day operations. Our annual membership meetings are the 3rd Saturday in April. Our regular monthly Board meetings are on the Third Wednesday of each month at 6 PM. Please consult our calendar, contact the office, or enroll in e-mail updates for meeting dates and times or in case the meeting date or time has changed.

As the Board President, I welcome all members and the public to our website and invite you to help us make our community a great place to live.

-Eileen O’Hara, Board President
